Mr. Larkin has joined a group of Copenhagen creatives in opening a shop and studio in downtown Copenhagen called GUNGUN!
Mr. Larkin will be producing limited seasonal collections that will be sold at GUNGUN and on Mr. Larkin’s upcoming online shop (to be launched very soon!!). Stilhed I Stuen
Ever since I designed the Elsa from my debut Spring 2009 Collection, I have been asked by quite a few conscious brides-to-be to design their wedding dress. I sadly have had to turn most down because I did not have the time to add such a couture concept to Mr. Larkin’s already time consuming artisan process. Though since I have been on leave the last year raising my little girl, I have had some time to step away from the intense production schedules of seasonal fashion and focus on the true art of couture design. I’m not sure where this will go, but I am in the process of designing a few more wedding gowns at the moment and have officially opened the doors to custom orders for the Mr. Larkin Six Pennies Collection.
The saying goes:
Something old, something new
Something borrowed, something blue
And a silver sixpence in her shoe.
A sixpence is a coin that was minted in Britain from 1551 to 1967. It was made of silver and worth six pennies.
Here is a peak at the first dress I made (with the help of my ever-so-talented embroiderers at Elephant Embellishments) for my beautiful friend Natalie…she married her love, Justin, in Santa Monica on 9.10.11…I was honored to be apart of their very special love story…

Danish work wear legend Kansas and Mads Nørgaard- Copenhagen teamed up to fashionably honor the working man. Staying true to Danish tradition, Mads Nørgaard commissioned me to hand embroider the names of 40 special men and women in gifted jackets to each honorary person. The list of local creatives ranged from models, musicians and artists to editors, photographers and fellow designers. I must say there were quite a few names that had me a bit star struck! Each day on Madsnorgaard.dk they will honor one man from the elite list in their work wear…I have added some photos of the labels and the most recent honorees…directed by Frederik Bjerregaard and photography by Anne Mie Dreves.

The jackets were presented at the Mads Nørgaard shop on Strøget Thursday morning with a classic Danish working man’s breakfast and DJ Djuna Barnes playing her Working Class Hero mix . Then Thursday night Mads Nørgaard and Euroman had a party at Mesteren and Lærlingen to honor the collaboration! Here’s a few photos of the events…
