Prints, pajama pants, a nod to the 40s, 20s and 60s, layers, stripes, sherbets and peplums are just a few things from NYFW SS12 that already have me giddy for Spring! What am I going to do all Winter?! There were some shows I could have looked through 100 times and then flipped through 100 more, and then there were some major let-downs from some of my usual favorites (but I will leave those nameless). While most designers seemed to be in a full on battle of the prints others surrendered to that battle by waving their white flags…beaded, tailored and layered to perfection. Here are a few of my favorites from New York…

Normally they design a bit too much on “the dark side” for me, but if you remove the printed stockings and sleeves, throw on your favorite haraches, and layer on the chunky accessories (preferably all of Gretchen Jones NYC SS12 Jewels) these witchy gowns transform into [black] magical summer festival dresses. Watch out Coachella you may see a Larkin rocking one of these dresses come April!
